Monster Mountain - Secca Round 2

The second race of the season was at Monster Mountain in Tallasee, Alabama.  We were really excited about going to this race, because this is where Chuck proposed to me in December.  We had it planned to leave on Friday afternoon and spend the night.  But on Friday at lunch Clay and Sara sold their truck.  So they get two drops and we took this race as a drop and did not go, seeing as though it was so far from Tupelo.

The first weekend of September found us packing up dirtbikes and heading to Clanton, Alabama in the very early morning hours of a Saturday.  Clay and Sara (our boyfriend/girlfriend couple) stopped by the house and picked us up, we loaded up the Tahoe and headed out to the Chickenhouse Hare Scramble.  Clay and Chuck (pilot and copilot), Sara and Amelia (pit crew) and Clay's little brother and sister, Hayden and Paige with Bad Brad and Chad following behind us in another car.  Everything went smoothly on the ride to Alabama, we stopped, gassed up, and everyone got a biscuit and drink at the gas station.  We arrive in Clanton at the Chickenhouse and proceed to get the guys registered and the tent set up.  The guys raced and three of the four placed and brought home wood.

It was HOT!!  Clay got sick and did not finish the second moto, but still ended up placing and bringing home wood.  When Chuck finished the race, he wasn't sick, but he was rather pitiful.  Sara and I had to step up our game and load up everything!!  We earned our strips for Best Pit Crew!! We stopped and ate supper at Chili's and hit the road home.
